How is life lived if not solving

One problem at a time?

When I answer a math question,

It’s a task completed

And I rest easy knowing

One solution has been found.

Math is much easier to solve

Than problems of the world.

Even without formulae

And guidebooks,

We often figure it out,

Faster, if we share our thoughts.

Without math,

We may not know

How long sunlight takes

To reach the Earth

Or how flowers contain

Fibonacci numbers.

Some math answers change

Our understanding of nature

While others

Help us understand it more.

Some math solutions avert

The course of our Universe

While others give us hope

We will one day navigate it.
